A successful website requires solid SEO — search engine optimization — but "solid SEO" can become needlessly complex. At its core, SEO really means giving Google the helpful, trustworthy, and interesting information it wants. This session will focus on SEO fundamentals and creating content — from compelling images to useful listicles to engaging stories — that helps Google, and therefore users, easily find your library's website and discover everything you have to offer.

  • Objective 1 A basic understanding of SEO (search engine optimization) for websites.
  • Objective 2 The foundation of good SEO is interesting, helpful content. Through examples and an activity, attendees will learn how to create that content.
  • Objective 3 Identify core keywords and topical keywords for the library's website, and use those keywords to come up with content that can be created immediately.
