Catalogers at the Utah State University Merrill-Cazier Library are barcoding the entirety of Special Collections and Archives in order to efficiently track the usage of collection items. Students manage the collections and specialize in their different areas. The process involves cataloging, improving existing records, and spreadsheet tracking. Barcoding statistics are totaled and displayed on a physical map of the library. The map playfully markets the progress and value to administration.
